Case Study ONE
An executive leadership team who were under siege, suffered decreased performance and results, impacting over 5000 staff and the $850million budget and as a result, their future. The harsh reality is that the CEO and the executive were losing confidence and credibility within the organisation, losing trust in each other, and losing the social capital and morale of the staff, with resulting impact on personal performance, silos, engagement and resilience. START Consultants partnered with the executive to rebuild their trust as a team, reposition their purpose, regain credibility and reenergise them to lead the transformation for sustainable performance. The results for the team were a greater than 50% improvement in measured team culture, new trust and commitment to each other and creating real value. There was considerable improvement in staff engagement up by 7% during the timeframe despite significant change during survey time, they recorded a 1.8% improvement in surplus and maintained stable wages as % of revenue in a very challenging market and a 6% improvement in Consumer Satisfaction (Net Promoter Score).

Case Study TWO A new CEO, the appointee of two first time executives, geographical disbursement and a history of individual / functions isolationism and competition. START was engaged to 'transform' the business and designed an 18-month leadership program including face to face forums, team and 1:1 coaching for the top 20 executive and senior team, and the formation of peer networks and learning hubs. The results exceeded expectations at all levels and fulfilled (average 9/10) the key objectives of enhancing leadership cohesion, embedding teaming within the business, building individual resilience & transformation and establishing a strengths based culture. Case Study THREE The Executive Team of a 4000 person organisation recognised that 70% of the time, their core work rests with the specialist managers and team leaders who ran the 24 / 7 operations. Resilience and Wellbeing
- The new Code of Practice (managing the risk of ‘psychosocial hazards’ at work) under the WHS Act, now requires that physical injuries and psychosocial injuries, their prevention and risk mitigation obligations for all staff, leaders and the organisation are treated the same. This comes on the back of Covid and increasing demands of global and economic uncertainty, placing strain on resources and people like never before. All the psychosocial hazards and their management require an environment that is psychologically safe, where all staff, managers and leaders can and do speak up, listen well and know who to go to and how to help.
- Building on over a decade working with thousands of people from CEOs to Graduates, we have developed a new process that puts the emphasis where it makes the greatest difference and builds a psychosocial safety culture needed to keep your people performing at their best and support your compliance with The Code.
- We call it Sustaining Productivity through Radical Resilience (SPRR). The Radical Resilience(c) is new in that it focuses on the quality of the relationships with ourselves and with others that determines the degree of authentic change in culture for individual, teams and systems. Importantly this is not only individual resilience (although we all face challenges and struggles at work), but also relational resilience, team resilience (e.g. changes in job and work design and practices) and system resilience (e.g. policy, change management, engagement etc).
- SPRR uses the metaphor and practice of sharing TEA we call ‘Wanna Cuppa?’ (AKA Don’t stew, let’s share a brew). TEA conversations are Thoughtful, Empathetic and Authentic, that develop a shared valuing and utilising our Time, Energy and Attention (focus).
- The program, resources and supporting TEA Tools are evidence based and use best practice processes to build common language, shared practices for committed actions and new skills and knowledge that will:
- Raise awareness & support you to mitigate psychosocial hazards and risks, and meet compliance with the Code
- Help people maximise their own wellbeing and support the psychological safety of their colleagues
